2026 7th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing (ICAMIM 2026)

2025 6th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing (ICAMIM 2025) was successfully held at the Zaoqing Senlan Yunhai Hotel in Gaoyao District, Zaoqing City, Guangdong Province from November 21st to 23rd. The conference was guided by the Office of the Zaoqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China for Talent Work and the Zaoqing Science and Technology Association, and jointly hosted by the Guangdong Doctoral Innovation Development Promotion Association and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Metal New Materials Industry Alliance. It was co-organized by the Gaoyao District Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Zaoqing City, the Gaoyao District Science and Technology Association of Zaoqing City, AEIC Academic Exchange Center, Zaoqing Gaoyao Huafeng Electronic Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd., Guangdong Fukuang Smart Home Co., Ltd., and the Foshan (South China) New Materials Research Institute. With the theme of "Innovation Integration, Intelligent Manufacturing Future - Promoting High-Quality Development of Metal Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", nearly 400 experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities and research institutions, business people, representatives from friendly cities, and relevant personnel from the Zaoqing Municipal Government and the Zaoqing Science and Technology Association attended the opening ceremony to discuss the high-quality development of the metal industry and the promotion of intelligent manufacturing in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Academician Li Liejun, President of the Guangdong Doctoral Innovation and Development Promotion Association and Chairman of the Metal New Materials Industry Alliance of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Wang Xinjiang, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Society for Metals, Chen Xuanqun, Vice Chairman of the Zhaoqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and other leaders attended the conference and delivered speeches. Professor Du Ruxu, a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a national-level high-level talent, and Academician Li Liejun, a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and a professor at the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of South China University of Technology, respectively delivered keynote speeches titled "Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Manufacturing" and "Trends in New Materials at Home and Abroad and the Development of New Materials Industry in Guangdong".

In his speech, Li Liejun, the chairperson of the conference, profoundly summarized the development process of the International Academic Conference on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing over the past five years. Wang Xinjiang, in his speech, emphasized the significance of innovative development in the field of metal materials, affirmed the positive role of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in promoting industrial upgrading and technological progress, and called on all parties to strengthen cooperation to promote high-quality development of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing.

Jointly create an even more brilliant future for the metal industry in the Greater Bay Area.

Academician Du Ruxu of the Canadian Academy of Engineering delivered a keynote speech

Academician Du Ruxiu pointed out in his keynote speech that as the global manufacturing environment shifts from globalization to nationalization, enterprises are confronted with increasingly complex international market changes and multiple challenges. Mastering artificial intelligence technology has become the key to enhancing competitiveness. He detailed the development history of artificial intelligence technology, particularly elaborating on the innovative methods of "AI in the loop" controlling various manufacturing links, AI-driven quality control, and using causal networks to trace the root causes of problems. He emphasized that these technologies will lead a new round of breakthroughs in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

Li Liejun, a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech

In his keynote speech, Academician Li Liejun first took the United States and Japan as examples to deeply analyze the development trends of the foreign new materials industry and technology. Then, he focused on the current situation of China's new materials industry, envisioned the development direction for emerging and future industries, and systematically expounded the current situation, development trends and existing problems of the new materials industry in Guangdong. He also clarified the strategic goals for 2035 and emphasized the importance of promoting industrial innovation and high-quality development.

During the technical special report session of the sub-forum, the advanced materials sub-forum one was presented with excellent reports by experts such as Professor Sun Haibo from Foshan University, Researcher Liang Zhiyuan from Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, and Associate Professor Dong Yong from Guangdong University of Technology. The intelligent manufacturing sub-forum two was also featured with outstanding reports by experts like Professor Jiang Fan from Guangzhou University, Senior Engineer Qin Hao from the Intelligent Manufacturing Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences, and Professor Dai Shilu from South China University of Technology. The sub-forum on the automotive parts and hardware products industry in the Greater Bay Area three was also presented with excellent reports by experts such as Director Li Gaomou from the Asiko Smart Manufacturing Joint R & D Center of South China University of Technology, Director Wang Zhifeng from BAIC (Guangzhou) Automobile Co., Ltd., and Researcher Chen Yu from the Intelligent Manufacturing Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences.

The conference also added special activities such as "Promotion of Zhaoqing's Business Environment" and "Achievement Roadshow and Demand Matching", and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on Zhaoqing's business environment as well as new technologies, new products, new applications and new challenges in the metal industry and intelligent manufacturing.

As an important part of the conference, the paper selection and oral excellence evaluation sessions were highly engaging. More than twenty outstanding scholars from both domestic and international sources participated in the oral presentations, delving into in-depth discussions on advanced materials and cutting-edge technologies in intelligent manufacturing. The evaluation expert group conducted a rigorous review of the participating papers based on aspects such as innovation, application value, and academic level. This session not only showcased the research capabilities and innovative achievements of the participating scholars but also established an important platform for promoting academic exchanges and cooperation in related fields, further stimulating the innovation vitality and development momentum within the industry.

The purpose of holding this conference is to thoroughly implement the strategic deployments in the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan Outline" such as "building an international scientific and technological innovation center with global influence" and "accelerating the development of advanced manufacturing industries", and to further promote the "Academics and Experts Visit Zhaoqing" activity. The successful holding of this conference has gathered wisdom and strength for the high-quality development of the metal industry and the promotion of intelligent manufacturing in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It will surely strongly promote the innovative integration of the metal and intelligent manufacturing industries within the region, and contribute positively to the construction of a globally influential advanced manufacturing base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
